Libby Hanssen writes for the joy of words and the process of constructing a story, maintaining the culture blog Proust Eats a Sandwich. Her work in arts criticism has appeared in The Kansas City Star and KCMetropolis.org. She self-published her first book in 2011: Murray Goes to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. She and her jazz musician husband are rearing an Ivesian little boy on the outskirts of Kansas City. Hanssen collects toy instruments.
