Walker Benjamin was born to Jayhawkers on the Jersey Shore, where he was raised. He spent many summer hours in the heart of the Flint Hills and that small patch of Kansas Ozarks. He matriculated to and was graduated by the University of Kansas, and has obtain advanced degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Among numerous occupations: pumping gas, cutting fish, and selling vinyl records. His 30-plus addresses have included The Bronx, Trenton, Charlotte, and most recently Baltimore.
