Hacked up
but too dumb to die
Grand street is flailing to reconnect
writhing
throwing itselves around
with energy it doesn’t have to spare
until they just lie there
exhausted and envious of
its siblings who easily navigate the hills and slopes
slipping into new names
like greek gods
