Sometimes you are rounding a corner on your bicycle to find the road has ended, eroded and abruptly swallowed up by a rogue tributary of the Kansas River. You can see that the road resumes somewhere on the other side, but you do not yet know how to get there. Some years are like this. But take heart. Your loyal friends at Kawsmouth have been quietly drafting maps and building rafts by candlelight and are ready to resume exploratory art/literary activities on the fresh side of the new year.
